REACT is all about contradictions. The sandbox itself is on the one hand a unique opportunity for free experimentation and exploration, and on the other it's rigid window defined by time and budget. Our team has spent much of the last month dreaming up ideas and possibilities but this week it was time for the gong of pragmatism to awaken us from our meanderings. It's a key moment - aim too high and we end up with an unfinished mess, too low and we defeat the whole point of the sandbox.

Contraditions! by Marcin
Contradictions provide the creative fuel for our engine - we want to create something playful but meaningful, something unique but transferable, and this week we've outlined an approach which we hope is ambitious but achievable. It will try to address the contradiction right at the heart of our project - how to combine a linear flow with non-linear interactions while liberating and automatically combining both. The approach we've come up with should allow for some flexibility in refinement further on while giving us a clear path to proceed down now, maximising possiblities while neccesarily limiting scope.
Managing the tensions amongst all these opposing forces is a precarious business - if one string breaks the whole lot could collapse...
