Judith Aston, Academic Partner on the Future Documentary Sandbox Project 'I Am Orion', has written a report on her work with artist and filmmaker Jeanie Finlay. It describes the research behind 'I Am Orion' and how it has led to the development of a new term to describe the outcomes of this research - 'wraparound filmmaking'.Posted by Simon Moreton

Today we publish six films that share the stories of our six Future Documentary Sandbox projects.
The films were premiered on 19 March at our Future Documentary Sandbox Showcase in association with the i-Docs Symposium. (you can read about that event and see some photos here.)Posted by Matt Davenport
Our Sandbox teams have spent the last months in a fast and furious iterative research and development process conducting their own unique and playful investigations at the dynamic edges of documentary filmmaking.
Join our projects as they celebrate the work they have created, from the world's first playable documentary on the infamous Jack the Ripper murders, to becoming a masked character masquerading as Elvis, or playfully confronting and confounding your own expectations of everyday risk and danger through interactive film.Posted by Simon Moreton
I can’t quite believe it’s our final Future Documentary Sandbox workshop tomorrow, I’ve been telling all the project teams how fast 3 months of scheming can go, and all the way along I didn’t realise just how fast it feels until you’re on the inside and with them along for the ride. It’s been a transitional few weeks at camp #docsandbox as all our teams have moved into the final making, then panicking, then refocusing and making again all in the spirit of Sandbox experimentation. I thought a quick and very brief project roundup at this point would be useful.Posted by Matt Davenport
It feels like a long time since I managed to squeeze in some time to write up a news post amongst all the other wild and wonderful REACT shaped events and schemes currently on the boil; You can certainly feel the vibrations from the corner of the REACT camp at the Pervasive Media Studio right now.Posted by Matt Davenport
