Projects 2013 > Jack the Ripper 125 (jtR125) > Journal
Patrick, Janet and Tom started thinking about the Sandbox project almost as soon as we had news we were included because this November is the 125th anniversary of the Jack the Ripper murders and this presented itself as a possible date to make something of in terms of marketing and publicity for the project. Tom and Debbie at Auroch Digital, the creative partners, got together with us and their team for some meetings to discuss the playable documentary project idea and what that means, explore its game and documentary hybrid possibilities, research some experts on the time, the place and media phenomenon of the Jack the Ripper mystery/history, and to examine some publishing and promoting pathways.
Busy Bees yes? Below is a pic of us together at the Bristol Games Hub where Auroch lives just to prove it ;-) Janet and Patrick were so impressed with the Auroch team's creative energy and engagement in this strange hybrid entity we are trying to bring into existence. It is going to be a really inspiring (as well as challenging) process.
