Project Producers

  • Tom Metcalfe

    Tom is the Producer of REACT Objects Sandbox.

    He is a designer, with a specialism in object design, physical-digital and design thinking. His background is both in academia and industry, having recently worked in senior positions at both rAndom International and the Product Research Studio.

    He is co-founder of Fieldguide, an occasional collective and sometimes journal for people interested in design, technology, society and the intersections where they overlap.

    His collaborations and employment have resulted in his work being presented and exhibited at, amongst others, the Wellcome Trust, British Library, V&A and Design Miami. He's also talked and delivered workshops internationally, including SXSW, Sotheby's and NID India.

  • Clare Reddington

    Clare is Executive Producer of REACT, and Creative Director of Watershed

    She joined Watershed in Bristol in 2004 to work with HP Labs on utility computing animation project SE3D. Previously, she organised the Cheltenham Festival of Science, an annual five day festival exploring, promoting and encouraging debate around contemporary scientific development.

    Clare is a member of the advisory boards of the Arts and Humanities Research Council, Theatre Bristol, Capsule and Hide&Seek. She was a finalist in the British Council's UK Young Interactive Entrepreneur 2009 and has featured in Wired magazine's 100 people who shape the Wired world in 2010 and 2011.

  • Tim Senior

    Tim has been commissioned by REACT to produce the working paper: “Exploring the role of the Arts And Humanities In design for the Internet Of Things”.

    He is an independent scholar and artist, currently researching how traditional forms of disciplinary activity might be better opened up to new collaborative influences, a process of creatively challenging disciplinary values, methodologies and products to drive innovative lines of shared inquiry.

    Following his D.Phil. in Neuroscience at the University of Oxford, his research interests have led to diverse artistic, scholarly and teaching activities spanning neuroscience, the arts, digital humanities and the social and political sciences.
